Frequently asked questions

Is the English level test free?

Yes. All Amberly Learning Level Challenges are free, and you can complete them without registering or subscribing.

How many questions are in each Level Challenge?

Each Level Challenge contains 20 multiple-choice questions randomly selected from the question bank for your chosen CEFR level.

Can I take the English test more than once?

Yes. You can repeat a Level Challenge to practise your English and try to improve your score. Questions are randomly selected for each new attempt.

Will the test tell me my English level?

The Level Challenge provides a percentage score for questions at the CEFR level you select. If you want an estimate of your overall English level, take Amberly Learning's free Placement Test instead.

Can I review my answers?

Yes. After completing the challenge, you can review your answers and see which questions you answered correctly or incorrectly.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Both the Placement Test and Level Challenge are available without registration.
